Wedding in INDIA
October 22, 2009
Hi i want to focus on the on wedding ceremonies in india. As we all know that indian families are very conservative and they follow certain traditions as well as cultures during the marriage. We in an indian wedding can see those rituals being followed. In india during marriage the caste system prevails and a boy or girl from the upper caste cannot marry a boy or girl from the lower caste he or she is only permitted to marry within his own caste. The parents of the boy first choose the girl for their son and the choice of the son is never taken into account. There is also a dowry system in which the daughters parents give some gifts usually gold, electronics to their daughters at the time of marriage which too is considered as a culture during marriage in india. In some cases if the dowry is not given or the dowry amount is less as demanded then the bride is mentally and physically tortured and in some extreme cases she is usually burnt to death.Another important ritual during marriage in india is the performance of yagna during marriage which is considered as very holy as it pleases the hindu gods and they offer blessings. The wedding party is also given two days after the wedding is over and all the guests have to stay to attend the party. So these are some of the rules which one follows during the wedding ceremony in india. But now a days some make love marriage or stay together without marriage.
THANK YOU.
