Honesty

As many times as people mention honesty and how important it is in a marriage, I really don’t think they believe it. Too many times couples that are dating are blinded by the feelings they have toward each other, often leading them to hide how they really are. I just wish that couples would take the time to build a relationship before tying the proverbial knot. It is equally as important to love your mate as it is to trust them and the promises that they make to you. Sometimes promises are made before the marriage takes place, promises that are forgotten or neglected once the marriage is final. In cultures where marriage is a true bond, and not something recyclable, this can be particularly dissatisfying. Once you find out that you are living with someone you don’t really know, then it is really too late. Your marriage mate should be your best friend, it is important to be truthful and honest when courting. Be who you really are.
