Simple and Practical Wedding Plan

June 30, 2009

Getting married is an exciting event in woman’s life for it will happen only once. But it also hides lot of adjustments, expectations, and changes of things you used to do. Most people want their wedding as well as their future to be perfectly designed and prepared. From day one of preparation, from the wedding location, entourage, reception and even the smallest things were usually easy and well taken care of. But when it concerns the day one after the event, it usually caused trouble and hinders the thrill.

Women want security of course. More often, the caused of delay of weddings is the fact that the couple wants to save first for they want to have their own house that could be their love nest after the wedding, they are the practical type, if say secured future, they see to it that everything was planned appropriately, they want after the wedding to be at peace. Extravagant spending on the wedding that could almost make them on the verge of crying was eliminated. For them, it was just a one day affair. They are not so particular for the little things which they believe will finish before the day ends. For them, the only important is to be blessed and bind in the purity of marriage, to have blessed ring as sign of their being one, celebrate it with their loved ones whom they know would be their support and guidance in the long run of their married life. They believe that starting a new life in a simple way and with simple expectation will be the key yearning to a long and lasting marriage.

On choosing a venue

June 30, 2009

Choosing the location for the wedding function is an important consideration while tying the knot, and this generally depends on the type of wedding.

A simple religious wedding would invariably be held in the church or any other place of worship, and for the sake of convenience the reception should be held in a nearby hall, if conducted immediately after the wedding. Most people conduct the reception at some hotel, which would mean that the wedding families would not have to bother much with the arrangements.

An important consideration while fixing the venue would be accessibility for the guests. Hotels and places of worship would obviously be well connected and close to civilizations so that guests, even those depending on public transportation. If the number of guests who depend on public transportation are many, the time of the function should be adjusted so that they are not inconvenienced, and even in the numbers are few and the wedding time happens to be inconvenient to reach their homes, arrangement for dropping them at the homes would be ideal.

Cake Wrecks: And Now, MORE Weird Wedding Cakes

June 29, 2009

Cake Wrecks has an awesome post on Weird Wedding Cakes. Look, I’m not saying these should be used as inspiration (unless you really, really like fish) but you can always whip these out when the arguments over buttercreame vs. fondant become too heated.

Polygamy and polyandry

June 29, 2009

Polygamy is the practice of a man taking more than one wives simultaneously. While such a practice was the norm in ancient societies, this custom is looked down and disapproved in the modern societies, especially in the age of women’s liberation where women are considered on par with men.

Polygamy however becomes necessary at times when the wife is incapable of producing children, or due to some other factors. In societies that allow polygamy, men however tend to take more than one wives if they do not happen to be satisfied with the first wife for any reason whatsoever. Others take up a second wife if they travel to a distant location or the likes.

The converse of polygamy is polyandry which means women having more than one husband. While an institutionalized form of this concept is frowned uponm by all cultures at all times, the recent spread of the concept of “free sex” is in fact an diluted version of this concept.

The right age to marry

June 29, 2009

The question of whether to marry early or marry late has been endlessly debated for many years, and more so because there is no conclusive right or wrong in this regard. Many cultures, especially in West Asia and India tend to marry females at a very early age, in fact as soon as they reach puberty. To prevent child marriages, some countries have legislated the minimum marriage age as 18.

The marriage age of males is generally higher than females across all cultures, but here the norm varies from country to country. In Egypt for instance, where females are married off at an early age, it is common for men to marry only in their 30’s. The spread of modern society where females have also started becoming career oriented have raised the marriage age of women also to 24 and beyond, especially in urban communities.

An analysis of history reveals that with the passage of generations, humans are slowly but surely delaying marriages.

Wedding ready skin

June 27, 2009

You will want to have soft touchable skin on your wedding day. Here are some tips to getting that.
Use warm water not hot when showering. Hot will strip the oil off your skin.
Use a moisturizing shower gel.
A few times a week apply a good scrub to get rid of the rough patches on your skin. Pay close attention to your knees and elbows. Use small circular motions. Rinse well.
Pat your skin dry and do not rub it.
Make sure to apply a good moisturizer after you get out of the shower.
Take an oil bath. Add some baby or bath oil to the tub and soak away. This will help your skin get supper soft. Rinse and then apply a good lotion or cream after drying off.
Follow these easy steps and you should have perfect fooking skin for your big day. Make sure to apply lotion at least once a day so the moisture stays in the skin to make it look its best.

Perfect Pedi for your wedding

June 27, 2009

You can easily give yourself a pedi before your wedding without breaking the bank. Here is what I suggest.
Make sure that you use a file to get all of the rough spots off of your feet. I like to use a pumice stone in the shower every night. This really helps. You can also make sure to apply foot lotion so your feet will always look their best.
Start by taking off any old nail polish.
For the pedi, begin by soaking your feet in warm water. You can add some peroxide to the water as this will help soften your feet and make them feel great. Soak for about 15 minutes or so .
When you are done soaking them, get a good foot scrub to get all the dead skin off of them. You can make your own out of sugar and water if you do not have one. Rub in then rinse off well.
Next use your pumice stone, and then dry feet well. Apply your nail polish and let dry, then add another coat and then a top coat. When dry apply lotion on feet.

Cake balls

June 27, 2009

A perfect fill in for cake at weddings is cake balls. These are fun and easy to make and you can pretty much do them in any flavor. YOu can make them ahead of time and freeze them if you need to.
First of, begin by baking a cake of your choice. Use the directions on the back of the box. Once the cake is done and cooled, place it in a large bowl and chop it up. Add either one can of frosting or the equalivalent of that of homemade frosting and mix well. Shape into small balls and place in freezer for at least half an hour.
Melt some almond bark, and dip each ball into that. You can place them back in the fridge to help them harden.
Many combos can be made. White, strawberry, cherry chip, chocolate, and confetti are all good with chocolate bark, and white and chocolate are good with butterscotch. White almond bark is good with almost any kind of cake balls. You can use either white frosting or anyother flavor.
