“Split Decision” Bridal Styles?
January 29, 2009
A post about “split decision” bridal styles on Wedding Bureau talks about this trend:
I love watching wedding styles change. We’ve already talked about wedding trends like sweetheart tables, food stations, and my personal fave, the cupcake wedding cake. Now let’s look at some of the trends from 2008 and decide what’s a flash in the pan, and which ones will be keepers. One trend of 2008 is what bridal magazines call the split decision. In Chinese weddings, a traditional red qipao and a white Western wedding dress are both to be expected, and American brides are taking a page from that book. If a bride can’t decide between two gowns or two decoration styles, take both! Brides can wear a white ballgown to saw her vows and take the church photos, and then change into a completely different style for the reception. One hairstyle and bouquet for walking down the aisle, and another look for dancing later. Perfect for having a fairy-tale white wedding dress and still being able to dance at the reception. And more selections is great for keeping everyone in the family happy
