Keeping a budget for meals
January 18, 2009
Weddings are expensive, but you can buy things little by little if you know in advance what you will be serving. Make a list of everything you will need, from plates, cups, utensils, and napkins to your drinks. Each time you are at the store, pick one or two items to buy so you are not buying them all at once. If you are having 2 litter bottles of pop to serve, pick up two or three each time and then store them.
If you are having canned beer, wait for the beer to go on sale, and then pick up what you will need.
Another great option is to try a warehouse store, such as Sam’s. You can buy in bulk here for items you will need a lot of, such as your nuts and mints.
By starting out early with your shopping, you can be sure that you won’t be paying for it all at once and it will not seem as overwhelming.
