Fade Bridesmaid Dresses

December 15, 2008

fade
I have typically not loved “the fade effect”. I tend to think that it looks a little like you waded thru a puddle… BUT, this dress
caught my eye. I thought that it could be really pretty for a beach
wedding. It’s not something I would normally be drawn to, so this sort
of surprised me. Although… I did love Gwen Stefani’s dress, which had a similar white to pink fade. What do you think of the fade? Ok for the right event? Or just dirty looking?

I’m not a fan of white bridesmaid dresses, but a well-done fade in the right colors would be an interesting choice for your ‘maids. And a dress in different shades would open up a lot of flower options.

Splitting the Tab

December 10, 2008

Everyone loves a wedding. When you’re planning your nuptials, those closest to you are happy to be part of the big occasion. Family and friends participating in the wedding know that it comes with a bit of financial responsibility. Modern wedding protocol calls for the bride and the groom not to be so hung up on who should pay for what. When planning for this kind of occasion, you need to consider the personal and financial situations of your family, friends, and bridal party. You may want to pick up some of the costs, such as paying for the bridesmaids’ shoes if you want to be sure they all wear the same kitten heels, or hosting the engagement party if you want it larger than what the groom’s parents can afford.

A Nice Wedding Song

December 9, 2008

I had attended a wedding before and I remember this song that makes it so special. This song was simple yet it makes the whole church became emotional due to the message of this song. I myself even became teary eyed when I am listening carefully to it. And I think it does fit for all those bride out there. It was called “Butterfly Kisses” by Jim Brickman and Carlisle Bob. Here’s the lyrics of this song.

There’s two things I know for sure
She was sent here from heaven, and she’s Daddy’s little girl
As I drop to my knees by her bed at night
She talks to Jesus and I close my eyes
And I thank God for all of the joy in my life, oh but most of all

For butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer
Sticking little white flowers all up in her hair
Walk beside the pony Daddy, it’s my first ride
I know the cake looks funny Daddy, but I sure tried
Oh with all that I’ve done wrong, I must of done something right
To deserve a hug every morning, and butterfly kisses at night

Sweet sixteen today
She’s looking like her Mama, a little more everyday
One part woman, the other part girl
To perfume and makeup, from ribbons and curls
Trying her wings out in a great big world
But I remember

Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer
Sticking little white flowers all up in her hair
You know how much I love you Daddy, but if you don’t mind
I’m only gonna kiss you on the cheek this time
With all that I’ve done wrong, I must of done something right
To deserve her love every morning, and butterfly kisses at night

(background)

All the precious time,
Oh, like the wind the years go by
Precious butterfly,
Spread your wings and fly

She’ll change her name today
She’ll make a promise, and I’ll give her away
Standing in the brideroom just staring at her
She asks me what I’m thinking, and I said I’m not sure
I just feel like I’m losing my baby girl,
And she leaned over

Gave me butterfly kisses with her Mama there
Sticking little white flowers all up in her hair
Walk me down the aisle Daddy, it’s just about time
Does my wedding gown look pretty Daddy?
Daddy, don’t cry
Oh, with all that I’ve done wrong, I must of done something right
To deserve her love every morning, and butterfly kisses,
I couldn’t ask God for more, than this is what love is
I know I gotta let her go, but I’ll always remember…
Every hug in the morning, and butterfly kisses

Getting Married

December 7, 2008

So, my cousin is getting married and here is something that you just do not want to do. She had to find another bridesmaid because her husband to be wanted to have 6 groomsmen…I know…weird because it is usually the other way around. Anyway, she went out with the 5 girls that are in the party to pick out their dresses. They all got their dresses and the color and everything and then she asked someone to be the other bridesmaid…and this person was like her 5th choice. She didn’t even wait to go with all of them to get the dresses. And then she has the nerve to change everything and they all have to go out again. Have consideration for your bridesmaids…because lets face it … they really don’t want to do this!

Coordinating a wedding

December 4, 2008

I knew some wedding coordinators around but I never imagined being one just these past few days and I really can’t imagine that coordinating this big event for a women would really cause lots of tension and stress. Just thinking about the things needed for this big event was really stressful. It also added a big problem that this job was assigned to me just a few days before the wedding date and none of the things was done by the couple! What a lucky me! From appointments to canvassing the flowers, caterers, etc. down to very simple details of the wedding souvenir does really need to be refined and well discussed to the couple so that I won’t hear any bad comments. I just hope that this will not be the last wedding that I coordinated cause even I got lots of tensions and stress I did enjoy it so much.

Old beliefs before the wedding day

December 2, 2008

For those people brought up in a traditional family, they have beliefs followed. These were;

1. Before the day of the wedding, the bride should not wear her bridal gown. It will bring bad luck to the couple.

2.When gown fitting, the groom should not see the bride wearing the gown. There’s a possibility that the wedding will not be held.

3.Old traditional beliefs that the bride’s gown should be all white that symbolizes purity and virginity.

4.The day before the wedding, the couple should not see each other.

5. Brothers or sisters should not married within the same year. There’s a possibility that one couple will be lucky and the other one is not.

There are lots of traditional beliefs still exist. Above mention were just a few. But still, it depends on the couple if they will follow the traditional or not. We are now in the modern days and there’s a lot of changes and differences evolved. But there are couple brought up and respect the traditional one.

December Wedding

December 1, 2008

Most couple want to get married in December. Because this is the month for Christmas season. They want to share their vows with the happy spirit of the month. Most common motif during this month are red, gold, silver, green and blue. They usually follow the colors of Christmas. Decorating the church gives them a less work because Christmas decoration is already present. Few flowers and ornaments for enhancement are needed for final touch. Festive foods in reception were followed the traditional Christmas servings like turkey and ham. Giveaways or favors still have the touch of Christmas in colors or decoration. Wedding gowns are done in traditional way. Wedding held at night gives an advantage for dramatic look because of the Christmas lights seen everywhere.
