More for Less

May 13, 2008

Thinking about my wedding day I can honestly say it was beautiful. I had the works. Big church, fancy dress, flowers, beautiful cakes and reception, photographer. Today I can honestly say it still remains one of my fondest memories.
There are ways to have all of this without spending fifty grand that you will never see again. For one the reception. Who says you cannot go out and buy all those dishes you use to serve the food and punch on at a discount place where they make silver platter like plates, serving trays and so forth that you can get all for under fifteen dollars. I had those and no one even knew they were not real silver platters. I also had lace table cloths very in expensive indeed and very formal. My flowers were all hand made by my mother. The flowers consisted of bridesmaid, groomsman, mothers, grandmothers, flower girls, pew flowers, stage flowers, center pieces for reception. All these flowers were made for seven hundred dollars less than what the flower shop was charging. My dress was beautiful with a long train with sequins and all the works. Beautiful candle arrangements and potted plats lined the stage. The decor for the reception was fabulous. I owe all of this to my mother. She alone made all my dreams come true that day. I had the wedding of my dreams and was not dissappointed at all with anything I had. My wedding was beautiful and special; it was every young girls dream wedding. So before you go overboard with all the preparations make wise decisions. Think of all the money you could save and have extra to do with what you would like AFTER the wedding was over. Afterall the first few years of marriage are difficult we all have been there; we need all the help we can get most of the time. Just something to think about before you start purchasing for your big day.
