Preparing for a Last Minute Wedding

Are you so in love that you know that you want to get married… now? If you are ready to jump the broom by next week, there are easy ways to make sure that you get the wedding together without the pain and suffering.

The first thing to remember is that it has to be simple. It can still be nice, but you aren’t going to get extravagant in a week, or even a month, unless you have a great wedding planner. Even with the decorations, cake and reception, go simple and go ready made. It will make everything become a smooth transition.

Even if you are thinking simple, a last minute wedding can be hard because of bookings. If you want music, someone to marry you, a specific place to get married, and family members to come, check the dates with them first and have a back up plan in case it doesn’t work. Music can still be effective if it is on a CD, almost anyone should be able to marry you, and expect the family members to only be those that are near and dear to your heart. Since it is last minute, expect to be flexible with the options.

Once you get past the major needs, everything is cake. You will want to find simple decorations, or just keep it at flowers, and a reception that just needs a caterer or that can be done in the backyard. Many times, those who are ready to get married but think the party needs more planning, will just have a marriage, then will wait for the reception until even a month later. This is a great way to get hitched fast without all of the fuss.

With a smaller check list and a little time, preparing for a last minute wedding can be simpler than thought. As long as you allow things to go… close to what was planned, you will come out with a new ring and smelling like roses.
