Slideshows Make Nice Touches At Receptions

April 15, 2008

Slide show presentations are easier to do these days than ever before. And just imagine the special personalized touch a moving slide show can bring to your wedding day.

There are different options you can choose for a slide show. You can make it like a diary of you and your spouse’s relationship since you first met. You can go back in time to show the both of you as babies and your childhoods, and ultimately your adulthood. You can choose to focus on the wonderful people in your lives that have nurtured, cared for and supported each of you in your lives. Or make it as a collage including aspects of all of the above ideas.

Music will be a key element of your slide show. You want the music to convey to friends and family emotions that the pictures bring out in you, and in turn, to them. Take your time choosing the right songs to go with your photographs.

Mix current pictures with older black and white photos. Add old film footage, if your family has some, along with newer videos you may have taken recently.

Try to make sure your final presentation tells a story of some sort, for guests to really become involved and get to know even more about you both as a couple. Think carefully about what you want your family and friends to get from watching your photographic story.

Decide if you want to have your slide show presented at the wedding ceremony itself, the reception ( a more popular choice, I think), or even at the rehearsal dinner. Get help from a professional if you love the idea, but really don’t know where to start. And start looking through old photographs and family members photos for you and your spouse as soon as possible.
