Guest Peace Exchange At End of Wedding

April 29, 2008

One fun way and beautiful way to get your guests involved in your wedding is through an peace exchange at the end of the ceremony. After the vows are said to one another the person officiating the wedding announces the guest peace exchange. After the wedding couple proceeds out, the guests greet one another with a simple phrase as “Peace be with you”, “Love be with you” and they shake hands.

This is a great way to get guests to know one another and to break the ice after the couple has left the vow ceremony area. Many guests will begin chatting and introducing one another prior to the reception. It is a fun and beautiful way to have guests involved at the end of the ceremony.

Guest Vow During the Wedding Ceremony

April 29, 2008

More and more couples are involving their guests in the wedding ceremony. One nice tradition that some churches use is the guest vow. Anyone from any denomination can use the guest vow. It enables the guests to be a part of the ceremony and you will be surprised at how many take it seriously. It is a beautiful addition to a wedding ceremony.

During the ceremony, the guests all rise. The person in charge of the vows asks the congregation if they vow to help the couple through their marriage and provide them support to help their marriage sustain. The guests respond with an I will.

You can add the guest vow into the wedding program to let guests know what to do. This is a great way to have everyone involved in the ceremony and it offers great support to the wedding couple.

Maternity Wedding Dresses

April 29, 2008

It used to be a hushed topic to tie the knot during pregnancy. You hear all the old stories about shot gun weddings. Today, however, there are some gorgeous maternity wedding dresses to choose from. Here are a few tips to help you make the perfect selection.

Choose a dress that will allow you to expand. You will not be the same size a month from now for the wedding. You can also select your dress closer to the time of the wedding, instead of early own.

Cotton fabrics breathe well. This will keep you from getting hot during the ceremony in a roomful of people. Cotton is also very flattering and has some gorgeous maternity wedding dress patterns.

Choose a maternity wedding dress that flows from the waist but has puffy sleeves and a low back line to accent other parts of your great figure. It’s a time to celebrate the union with your partner and the upcoming birth of your child.

Going Green with Invitations

April 29, 2008

Wedding invitations are one of the most important part of the wedding. But have you ever stopped to think about how much paper is used? Papers are made from trees that are a valuable resource to our environment. Many couples are turning to green invitations.

Make certain that your invitations are printed on recycled paper instead of traditional paper. You can even go organic cotton paper that is recycled. It is a little bit higher but in the long run your are reducing your effect on the environment with your wedding invitations.

Encourage others to use recycled paper as well. Send out your thank you notes and acknowledgments with recycled paper as well.

Stop Making the Bridesmaids Wear Bad Dresses

April 28, 2008

I know. With the big day coming, it is easier to pick out something that you think fits into the theme of the wedding for the bridesmaids. It is even easier to pick something that is in budget and is simple to put together. Before you start deciding and spending a budget - have some mercy for some bridesmaids.

Most of you girls who are getting married and have been bridesmaids know that you should never have that kind of wedding. However, for those who are more old fashioned or forgot that the side people matter a little bit too, it’s time to remember all of the girls of the wedding.

There are plenty of options for finding simple cuts and fits for those that are going to be in your wedding - without the fluff or bad skirt styles. You can easily find classy dresses out there - from halter tops to bows that don’t look repulsive and to sleek looks that the girls can wear more than once and won’t mind putting on for your wedding.

One approach that can be taken is to not worry about everyone matching exactly. You can still keep the same colors, but they can be displayed in different ways, depending on the size and shape of the girls who are by your side. It is even kosher now to not have matching colors among your girls to give some variety to your day.

So, before you start playing Barbie, or letting someone else play Barbie, try and find something that fits who is there. You will find that there are some options that are much better than what you may have had to wear.

Your Wedding: Choosing a Color Scheme

April 27, 2008

Choosing a color scheme for your wedding will help set an atmosphere that reflects you. No matter the color scheme you choose, you can create a simple or sophisticated wedding.

The color scheme you choose, generally carries over into the decorations for the wedding and reception, the attendants attire, table settings - everything!

Suggested color schemes:

Pink - pink is very feminine, yet romantic. There are many shades of pink from pastels to very bright and bold. You can add a neutral color such as white or ivory.

Red - red is a timeless romantic color and clearly speaks of love. Red works well with any season, but especially in winter. Red can be combined with white, very light pink, ivory, gold or silver. Black attire for attendants looks great along with red decorations.

Pastels - pastels work beautifully for the more subtle and elegant taste, whether a very light pink, peach, blue or green.

Ivory and gold or silver - ivory is very elegant and mingled with gold or silver creates a sophisticated atmosphere.

Dramatic
- if you prefer a more dramatic scheme, choose bolder colors such as a combination of deep purple and turquoise, deep purple and lilac or deep purple and lime green. These colors can add zest to your wedding, yet be very tasteful, especially if toned down with white.

The season in which you have your wedding can be a deciding factor for choosing your color scheme, but more importantly, it should be colors that create the atmosphere you are aiming for and suits your personality.

Sedu Flat Iron for Wedding Hair Styles

April 23, 2008

Using the Sedu flat iron for wedding hair styles is becoming very popular. The Sedu flat iron can help a great deal if your hair is naturally curly and kinky. You can straighten your hair to avoid a frizzy wedding hair style.

The good news is that the Sedu iron is ergonomically designed and heats up very quickly. This means that you can touch up your wedding hair style with ease. It is designed to use on virtually all hair types and is ideal for wedding hair styles. You can expect to pay a slightly higher price for the iron than with other traditional curling irons. However, the results for your wedding hair style will help you feel at ease.

One good tip to follow is to style your hair a week or so before your wedding day. This will enable you to practice with the iron and get your hair the exact way that you like it. Also, if you are going to a salon, specifically ask them for a Sedu wedding hair style. If you get your hair done even a month before hand, you can take pictures and know that the salon that you chose is the right one for you.
